The foundation of the Association dates back to 1947 and right from the outset the main aim was the promotion of reciprocal awareness of the Russian and Italian cultures across every field. This is why our cultural work is so vast and covers so many sectors: teaching Russian and Italian at various levels (including interpreting, business language etc.), conferences, exhibitions, round tables, film festivals, seminars, book lending, conversations, concerts, etc. organised in collaboration with teaching staff from the Universities in Milan and other Italian cities, as well as journalists, artists and Italian and Russian experts from various cultural walks of life. The Association houses a library that includes collections of texts and magazines from various cultural and scientific sectors, a vast video collection of Russian films that is kept up to date, and also offers translation and interpreting services.
