Museum of Twentieth Century Art
The fully restored Museum
of Twentieth Century Art, managed by the Central Culture Administration for the City of Milan, is housed in the Palazzo Arengario. Designed
by the architect Italo Rota, it has a large spiral
ramp as its main internal architectural feature,
that will connect all levels of the tower.
In the 8,200 square metres of exhibition hall
will be on display works by Picasso, Braque,
Klee, Modigliani, Fontana, Marinetti , de Chirico,
Morandi, Burri, and other famous twentieth century artists ranging from the beginning
of the century to the 1960s. The paintings
and statues will be displayed in chronological
order and many have been donated from private
collections.
The museum also contains an educational section, Edu900, care of Civita, and offers a varied calendar of events, themed courses and laboratories aimed at the general public, families, groups and schools.
On the third floor of the museum, looking on Duomo square there is a restaurant.
