The following lines summarise the competencies of the Province of Milan regarding travel agencies, hotel structures and tourism professions.
• The Province issues the necessary permit for the running of a travel agency for the relevant area in accordance with current legislation.
• The Province is to be immediately notified of any changes as regards the initial situation as the registration details held by the Agencies must always be up-to-date and those agencies which do not update their permit shall be fined.
• The Province carries out agency checks, via the Provincial Police, in order to verify that the activity is being carried out in accordance with current legislation.
• The Province revokes the permit in the case of loss of even one of the requirements necessary for obtaining the permit.
• The Province suspends, and may revoke, the permit of agencies in the event of serious non-fulfilment in respect of customers.
• The Province deals with the classification of hotel structures
• The minimum and maximum prices applied by the hotel structures are to be communicated to the Province
• Following a hotel stay, the Province may receive reports of situations where the facilities and services were not in line with those of the allocated category.
• Any application of prices higher than those originally communicated must be reported to the Province
• The Province indexes the exam session for entry to the tourist leader, tourist guide and technical director professions, according to the provisions of law.
