Permanent exhibition on peasant life and furnaces

Ancient rural estate and colonial house was home to the permanent Exhibition of tools and furnaces used by peasants between 1800 and 1900. The exhibition, inaugurated on 25 April 1999, is located in some of the restored rooms in the Cascina Siolo. The main themes of the exhibition are agriculture and furnaces and the exhibition belongs to the local council. At the entrance you will find stele showing scenes of peasant life created by children in middle schools in Garbagnate during a workshop on rock art in Valcamonica under the artistic guidance of the sculptor Giuseppe Valcamonica. The exhibition runs along simple lines: the equipment was suitably arranged in the physical space where in the past it was worked by the peasants in typical courtyards and fields and by those working in the brick industry in furnaces and where possible, grouped together into "production cycles".
