Discovering Leonardo's Canals"Itinerario delle Conche" ("The Basin Route")
An historical and cultural tour of Milan's canal district.
Visitors are given the chance to immerse themselves in the historical places furrowed by the barges that supplied old Milan with a variety of goods. Departing from "Alzaia Naviglio Grande" (Grand Canal Towpath) 4, along the first stretch of the trip you can see the "Vicolo dei Lavandai" ("Washerwomen's Alley"). Further ahead, a view can be had of one of the most important monumental complexes, comprised of St. Christopher's church, bridge and wash-house.
