Itinerario ciclabile da Assago a Pavia lungo il Naviglio Pavese
Since June 2010, it has been possible to travel on the 19th-century towpath of the Pavese Canal, in complete safety, from Assago to Pavia, passing through the heart of the South Milan Agricultural Park.
It is an opportunity to visit a splendid corner of the Lombard plain to discover the beauty of its farmhouses, old villas and drinking troughs without having to worry about the traffic.
Notes
The path is completely paved, except for the section between Binasco and Casarile, where it is covered with beaten earth - a mixture of sand and other materials - with an adjacent space set aside for sport fishing.
The path is wide and protected by a railing, except for brief crossing points for the cottages located along the Canal at Rozzano, Badile, Moirago and Casarile.
The towpath follows the right bank until Basile and then crosses to the other side.
The path has railings from Assago to Casarile and, so, is completely safe for 12.5 km. There are no railings from Casarile to Pavia and you should be careful and prudent.
The path is a total of 25 km long.
